Education Quality Assurance Officer\n\nLocation: London / Hybrid with travel across the UK\nHours: Full-Time\nContract: Permanent\nSalary: £43,798 - £50,733 (including a location allowance of £4,500)\n\nProtecting patient safety is the primary function of the General Dental Council (GDC). One of the ways we achieve this is by assuring dental education and training is both consistent and meets high quality standards.\n\nAs an Education Quality Assurance Officer at the GDC, you will have the opportunity to further your expertise in quality assurance whilst making a valuable contribution to protecting patients and making a real difference to people’s lives.\n\nIn this key role, you will manage the quality assurance of education and training programmes for dentists and dental care professionals. This includes assessing new course submissions, inspecting, and monitoring programmes to identify any potential risks to patient safety, and handling complaints about qualifications.

The role also involves managing a team of education associates, providing leadership and advice to associates and educational providers, and drafting detailed inspection reports that will be published.\n\nYou will represent the GDC externally, build and maintain relationships with other team members and stakeholders, contribute to the design and implementation of changes to current and future quality assurance processes, and support the Head of Education Policy and Quality Assurance in carrying out other work to support the team.\n\nPlease note, the role requires travel across the UK on a regular basis and managing the work of the inspection team throughout the duration of inspections, including out of hours.\n\nAbout you:\n\nThe successful candidate will have the following skills:\n\n- Experience of working in a quality assurance role.\n- Working with quality assurance systems, education or within auditing.\n- Experience of coordinating and leading teams using strong interpersonal skills.\n- Complaint handling experience.\n- Effective communication skills, along with analytical and report writing skills.\n- IT knowledge and strong competence in the use of CRM systems, in addition to MS Office.\n- Strong planning and organisational skills and delivering to deadlines.\n\nAbout us:\n\nOur primary purpose is to protect patient safety and maintain public confidence in dental services.
